Himalayan Foothills March -June / Sept - Dec

Well you could do it the hard way... (DIY section comming soon) but we would suggest using a experienced outfitter who knows the reigon & the local trails. Its no fun riding the indian highways with their crazy traffic.

Book early . This trip seems get booked up real fast. If you are a large bunch they could set up something specific for you.

These guys provide pure mountain biking and genuine exploration without the hardship; wherever you are you will only have to carry what you would normally take on a day-ride. Their discreet support team and vehicles carry all your luggage and offer you the option of taking a rest if you are feeling tired and in need of a break.

Their excellent local/western mix team will look after you well and their knowledge of the local region is second to none. You will visit the amazing Sherabling monastery, with beautiful intricate Thankas and the impressive gold-plated, jewel encrusted 3-story high Buddha.

Stop off at the picturesque Tibetan colony of Bir, host to the 1992 world paragliding championship. You have the opportunity of experiencing a bird's eye view of the breath- taking snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas whilst paragliding tandem.

The final destination Dharamsala (6000 ft) has been the centre of a vibrant Tibetan community since the 1950's and is home to the Dalai Lama, who received the 1989 Nobel Peace prize .

There is time to explore the temples and monasteries of Dharamsala, often called "little Lhasa in India" with a giant prayer wheel in the center of this colourful town and many strings of multicoloured prayer flags fluttering in the wind. The rich cultural heritage, both Buddhist and Hindu with the remants of faded touches of the Raj, add to the memorable images of a visit to the mountains of the Indian Himalayas.
