Delhi: Full Sleeper Bus overnight
Chill out and acclimatise in Manali,
flying if you want
Above the Kullu
Takeoff at 2500m this is the easiest
site in the Kullu valley and base
to a large tandem operation.. Located
in a box valley this steep site is
surrounded by spectacular peaks.
Halan (2400m): Great site below
Manali, offering huge height gains
and stunning views.
Halan: Our second day at this
site, simply steep into the thermal
elevator and ride as high as you want,
top out float out over the valley
and repeat, or try an exploratory
XC up the valley towards Solang.
This wonderful take off is set amongst
tall spruce trees. We spend the day
riding thermals, top landing in the
high alpine meadows and end with a
long ride down the valley towards
Marhi (3700m). Further along the
Rothang pass road from Gulaba we pass
the tree line and walk a short way
to this jewel of a flying site. Wide
open grassy fields offer excellent
high altitude dynamic soaring.
Marhi: We try and fly around the
valley today, linking the all the
sites, and impressive XC.
to Billing in the morning, if
we arrive with good time, we will
have a late afternoon flight.
One of the world’s premier XC
sites. With large thermals, big height
gains. This site is the text book
xc site, with climbs in all the places
you would expect, and ridges perfectly
spaced an easy glide away, personal
bests will be broken.
Bir in morning, overnight sleeper
bus to Delhi in the evening
every effort is made to keep to the above
itinerary, this is adventure travel in
a mountain region. It is likely that there
will be changes in the itinerary in terms
of anything from the exact hotel used
to the villages we may stop in for the
night. Weather conditions, road conditions,
can all contribute to changes. The Tour
Leader and guide will do everything to
ensure that you are inconvenienced as
little as possible in such circumstances.
If problems do occur, an easy-going nature
is a positive asset! This itinerary is
not cast in stone and we will suggest
other things of interest we have not mentioned
