Moderate treks we have done & enjoyed.

For noe we have listed some of the more popular North India treks.

EASY TREKS | MODERATE TREKS | ADVANCED TREKS

.

Moderate treks
1. Ripchar Valley Trek : 11 days in Ladakh
A very interesting trek beginning at Lamayuru and walking up the less traveled Ripchar valley with its small villages, nomadic settlements and pastures where we see a wide variety of flowers from end of July to end of August and birds too.
2. Goecha La Summer Trek. : 14 days in Sikkim
For the people of Sikkim, Kanchenjunga is more than just the third highest peak in the world; it is believed to be the abode of the state’s patron diety. This trek takes one right up close to the big mountain, through forests of rhododendrons, orchids, pine and magnolia. to the higher valleys and the rolling meadows used for grazing by the gentle yak-herding Lepchas.
3. Goecha La Autumn Trek : 14 days in Sikkim
4. Hampta Pass (4270m) : 8 days in Himachal
A short trek which leads from the lush greens of the Kullu valley to the barren landscape of the Chandra valley. The trail goes right up to the base of the high mountains of Deotibba and Indrasan (both 6000m plus) peaks and crosses over at the Hampta Pass.
5. Indrahar Pass : 10 days in Himachal
Starting from McLeodganj (Dharamsala) at about 6000ft in the Kangra valley and passing over the mighty snowbound Dhauladhar, the trail ends at Lamu in the Ravi valley. The trail is the traditional migratory and grazing route of the “Gaddis”, the colourful, semi-nomadic Hindu shepherds who belong to the Kangra and Chamba districts. Each spring, they bring their flocks from the foothills of the Kangra, over the Dhauladhar to the Ravi valley. From there they go higher across the Pir Panjal to the main Himalaya, and on to the rich grazing grounds of the Lingti valley in Spiti.
6. Gaumukh Tapovan Summer Trek : 8 days in Uttaranchal
An area which has been attracting people for centuries.
The trek starts from the 18th century temple of Gangotri and goes beyond the source of Ganga to the meadow of Tapovan, favourite spot for sadhus meditating in the Himalayas.
Gaumukh, the snout of the glacier, Tapovan and the mighty peaks of the Garhwal Himalayas definitely make it a special trek.
7. Markha Valley Trek : 13 days in Ladakh
One of the most popular trek in Ladakh, the proximity to Leh brings a lot of people in this valley. Beautiful landscape and good chances to spot some high altitude wildlife.
8. Kuari Pass (3690m) : 9 days in Uttaranchal
The pass is probably the best window to view the high Himalayan peaks. The views are simply breathtaking, facing north the vision sweeps from the gorges of Trishul in the east to the peaks of Kedarnath in the west - the Kedarnath, Chaukhamba, Nilkantha, Kamet, Gauri Parbat, Hathi Parbat, Nandadevi, Bethartoli, Dunagiri – (all high 6000ers or 7000 m peaks) lined one after the other in a magnificent arc … Southwards the foothills stretch wave upon wave on to the dim haze of the distant plains. Dotted by some remote villages one also gets good insights into the local life.
9. Dodital – Hanumanchatti Trek : 7 days in Uttaranchal
A moderate trek which starts from the Bhagirathi valley, goes up to the lake of Dodital (wrapped in perfect wilderness) to the alpine meadows and crosses over at Darwa Pass (4150m) to the Yamuna watershed. Traditionally this trek has been continuously used by the Gujjars, the nomadic herdsmen who get their buffalos to the high meadows every summer and occasionally by the pilgrims / sadhus walking between Gangotri and Yamunotri.
10. Kuari Pass - Climbing the North Face : 7 days in Uttaranchal
Probably the best window to view the high Himalayan peaks !
11. Bhabha Pass : 10 days in Himachal
The Bhabha valley is well known for its picturesque and magnificent surroundings-dense forests and lush green flower strewn meadows. Over the pass one is awe struck on entering Spiti. The mountain scape has an exotic appearance. Barren, rugged Rocky Mountains rise from the valley floor to heights of several thousand feet. All around is a panorama of rugged crags and slopes that change hues from pale pink to bright scarlet, alternating with the soft blues and greens of the glaciers.
